China announced on Wednesday that it will extend the suspension of an additional 24 percent tariff on US goods for one year, while maintaining a 10 percent blanket tariff.
The Finance Ministry said that following agreements reached during recent China–US trade talks, the 24 percent tariff on US goods will remain suspended for another year, effective November 10, while the 10 percent tariff will continue.
In a separate statement, China said it would lift tariffs of up to 15 percent on certain US agricultural products, including soybeans.
The announcement follows talks between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump in South Korea last month, which effectively extended a delicate trade truce for another year after several rounds of negotiations in recent months.
