Epstein’s alleged letter quoting Trump declared fake

RNE Network.

The U.S. Department of Justice has said that a document referencing former President Donald Trump, purportedly written by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein to Larry Nassar, is fake.

In a statement, the department said the letter should not be treated as factual, stressing that the release of a document by the Justice Department does not validate the allegations or claims contained within it.

The agency said the FBI determined that the handwriting does not appear to match Epstein’s. Investigators also found that the letter was postmarked three days after Epstein’s death from Northern Virginia, while Epstein was incarcerated in a New York jail at the time of his death. The document also did not include Epstein’s inmate number, which is mandatory for outgoing mail.

Last month, the U.S. Congress passed, and Donald Trump signed, a law requiring the Justice Department to make public its files related to Epstein. A large batch of documents was released on Monday, following disclosures late last week, with more releases expected.
