First Randomisation of Polling Staff Held for Bye-Elections to 27-Assembly Constituency Budgam

The first randomisation of polling staff designated for deployment across 173 polling stations for the Bye-Elections to 27-Assembly Constituency Budgam was today conducted at Budgam. The process was carried out by the District Election Officer (DEO) Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat (IAS), in strict accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
During the randomisation, a total of 1020 employees, including a 50% reserve, were deployed through a software-generated process to maintain transparency, impartiality, and fairness in the selection of polling personnel. The exercise marked an important step in ensuring smooth and credible conduct of the upcoming bye-elections in the constituency.
The process was attended by the Returning Officer (RO) 27-AC Budgam, Deputy District Election Officer (Dy. DEO), Nodal Officer ETBPS, and other senior officers of the district administration.
Speaking on the occasion, DEO Budgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat, reiterated the administration’s full commitment to conducting free, fair, inclusive, and peaceful elections. He directed all concerned officers to ensure that every aspect — from the training of polling staff to logistical and communication arrangements — is completed well in advance, in line with the ECI’s mandate.
The DEO further emphasized that transparency and accountability would remain the guiding principles throughout all stages of the electoral process for the bye-elections to the 27-Assembly Constituency Budgam.
