Indian National Congress releases first list for 42 assembly seats in Assam

The Congress party in Assam has released its first list of candidates for 42 Assembly constituencies.

Among the key candidates: Gaurav Gogoi will contest from Jorhat, Abdus Sobhan Ali Sarkar will contest from Gauripur, Markline Marak has been nominated from Goalpara West, Girish Barua from Bongaigaon, Mahananda Sarkar from Barpeta, Nandita Das from Hajo–Sualkuchi, Mira Borthakur will contest from Dispur.
