Bolstering its efforts to provide assistance to Sri Lanka under Operation Sagar Bandhu, India has provided dry rations and logistical support to the island nation.
The Indian Army is aiding bridge reconstruction to restore severed road links in Sri Lanka and facilitate travel for communities impacted by Cyclone Ditwah.
In a social media post, the High Commission of India in Colombo shared pictures of Indian Army engineers working steadily along the A35 near Kilinochchi, preparing and supporting bridge restoration efforts to reconnect disrupted road networks and ease movement for communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
Meanwhile, India continues to provide essential food items to the people of Sri Lanka under Operation Sagar Bandhu. The Assistant High Commission of India in Kandy, on Thursday, distributed dry ration packets to 200 families in Nuwara Eliya affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
Sharing pictures on social media, the Assistant High Commission of India in Kandy said that India reaffirms its steadfast solidarity with the people of Sri Lanka during this period of recovery.
In keeping with India’s Neighbourhood First policy, Operation Sagar Bandhu was launched to provide humanitarian assistance to the people of Sri Lanka affected by the devastating Cyclone Ditwah.
