India’s Under-19 squad announced: Vaibhav Suryavanshi captains the South Africa tour

The Selection Committee has announced India’s Under-19 squad for a three-match One-Day series against South Africa and the ICC Men’s Under-19 World Cup, scheduled in Zimbabwe and Namibia from January 15, 2026.

Before the World Cup, India U19 will tour South Africa for a three-match series. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will lead the team on the South Africa tour, while Ayush Mahatre has been named captain for the Cricket World Cup.

However, Ayush Mahatre and Vihaan Malhotra have sustained wrist injuries and will miss the South Africa tour.

India’s middle order includes Vedant Trivedi, Abhigyan Kundu, and Harvansh Singh, while the bowling lineup features Udhav Mohan, Yuvraj Gohil, and Rahul Kumar.

Five-time champions India have been placed in Group B alongside New Zealand, the USA, and Bangladesh for the World Cup.
