The Budgam–Banihal special train has been extended. The service will now run to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

To provide greater convenience to passengers and tourists, Northern Railway’s Jammu Division has announced the extension of the Budgam–Banihal special train service up to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra with effect from February 11.
As per the announcement, Special Train No. 04688 will continue to operate from Budgam to Banihal as per its existing schedule. From Banihal, the train will depart at 10:10 AM and reach Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1:00 PM, with stoppages at Khari, Sumber, Sangaldan, Sawalkot, Dugga, Bakkal and Reasi stations en route.
For the return journey, Special Train No. 04687 will depart from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra at 1:45 PM and arrive at Banihal at 5:30 PM. The onward journey from Banihal to Budgam will follow the existing timetable without any changes.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said that the extension of the service aims to facilitate smooth movement of local passengers and tourists, while further strengthening rail connectivity between Jammu and Kashmir.
