Aryan Varshneya became India’s 92nd chess Grandmaster, Won the Andranik Margaryan Memorial title in Armenia

 Aaryan Varshney has become the 92nd Indian chess player to earn the title of Grandmaster.

The 21-year-old reached the milestone after clinching the Andranik Margaryan Memorial title with a round to spare in Armenia.

Varshney held for a draw against FM Tyhran Ambartsumian in the eighth round of the competition to secure his third and final Grandmaster norm.

Varshney is the eighth Grandmaster from Delhi.
