Massive layoffs begin at Amazon due to the growing impact of AI and automation.

Amazon has announced it will lay off nearly 14,000 corporate employees starting Tuesday, triggering strong backlash.

The cuts will affect divisions including Human Resources (People Experience & Technology), Devices & Services, and Operations. Amazon’s corporate workforce totals roughly 350,000 employees.

The layoffs are part of CEO Andy Jassy’s efforts to streamline operations, reduce bureaucracy, and increase reliance on artificial intelligence and automation.

This marks one of Amazon’s largest job cuts since 2022, when the company eliminated around 27,000 positions, sparking widespread concern in the corporate sector.
