Export duty on petrol, diesel and jet fuel cut again, new rates effective from June 1

RNE Network.
India has announced a fresh reduction in export duties on petrol, diesel and jet fuel amid the continuing crisis in West Asia, with the revised rates coming into effect from June 1.
The government had imposed export duties earlier this year to ensure adequate fuel availability and reviews the rates every fortnight. Domestic fuel prices will remain unchanged following the recent increases in petrol, diesel, CNG and LPG prices.
According to a Finance Ministry notification, the export duty on petrol has been fixed at Rs 1.5 per litre, while the duty on diesel has been set at Rs 13.5 per litre. Export duties on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) have been fixed at Rs 9.5 per litre for the fortnight beginning June 1. The rates are revised on a fortnightly basis after a review of international fuel prices.
The government notification also clarified that there has been no change in the existing excise duty rates on petrol and diesel meant for domestic consumption.
