All religious yatras in J&K including Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra suspended for fourth consecutive day

All major religious yatras in Jammu and Kashmir, including the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, remained suspended for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday due to persistent heavy rainfall and adverse weather conditions across the Union Territory.
Officials said that the Yatra from Jammu to the twin base camps of Baltal in Ganderbal district and Nunwan-Pahalgam in Anantnag district also remained suspended as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of pilgrims.
Around 6,000 pilgrims are currently staying at Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu and the adjoining Asha Ram Bapu Ashram, awaiting further instructions from the authorities. Officials added that the situation is being closely monitored and the Yatra will resume only after weather conditions improve and the routes are declared safe.
The suspension follows continuous rainfall, flash floods, landslides and weather warnings issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), prompting the administration to prioritise the safety of all pilgrims.
