Uproar in Parliament for the seventh consecutive day; proceedings of both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha adjourned until 2 PM.

Pandemonium continued to rock the proceedings of Parliament on the seventh day as both Houses stood adjourned till 2 PM.
When the Lok Sabha began its proceedings at 11 AM, Speaker Om Birla congratulated para-athlete Sharmila Dhankar on winning the gold medal at the 23rd Commonwealth Games. The Speaker also congratulated all the athletes who have brought honour and pride to the country, as well as their coaches and family members.
Later, when the Speaker tried to take up Question Hour, Opposition members started sloganeering over the alleged police action against students during the protest.
Before adjourning the House, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla urged members to allow the House to function and build a consensus for taking up the discussion on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, at 2 PM, saying there had been an understanding among parties on the matter. He appealed for constructive debate and said Parliament should send a positive message to the country through dialogue.
The Rajya Sabha also stood adjourned till 2:00 PM over the same issue. When the House assembled at 11 AM, several Union Ministers laid papers on the Table of the House. The report of the Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution was also presented.
When Chairman C. P. Radhakrishnan took up Zero Hour, Opposition members started sloganeering over the alleged police action during students’ protests over the paper leak issue. As the pandemonium continued, the Chairman adjourned the House till 2:00 PM.
