Fireman Injured as Blaze Damages Two Houses in Hawal Srinagar

Swift action by Fire and Emergency Services averted major tragedy after flames engulfed residential structures in Kathi Mohalla locality of Hawal, Srinagar, leaving one firefighter injured.

A fire broke out in the Kathi Mohalla area of Hawal in Srinagar on Monday evening, causing extensive damage to two residential houses and leaving a firefighter injured during the operation.

According to officials, the blaze erupted in a single residential structure jointly owned by two brothers. The flames quickly spread within the premises, leading to considerable loss before being brought under control by the Fire and Emergency Services (F&ES) personnel.

During the firefighting operation, one fireman identified as Nasir Hossain sustained injuries while battling the blaze. He was immediately shifted to the hospital for medical treatment.

Authorities said the exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The concerned department has initiated investigations to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
