Pulwama Police Crack Down on Illegal Mining, Seize Vehicles and Register Cases

Continuing its sustained campaign against unlawful mineral extraction, Pulwama Police intensified enforcement, seizing multiple vehicles and initiating legal proceedings in separate incidents across the district.
In a continuous effort to curb illegal mining and transportation of minerals, Pulwama Police have seized several vehicles engaged in unlawful extraction and movement of materials from various locations in the district.
During a late-night operation, a police party from Police Station Litter seized two JCBs, one loader, and two tractors found involved in the illegal extraction of sand from Rambiara Nala near Nikloora Litter. In this regard, a case under FIR No. 92/2025 has been registered at Police Station Litter, and investigation is underway.
In a similar action, a naka was laid at Bonnera where two dumper vehicles loaded with boulders were intercepted. Upon verification, it was found that the vehicles lacked valid royalty slips. Consequently, both dumpers were seized, and a case under FIR No. 259/2025 has been registered at Police Station Pulwama.
Pulwama Police reaffirmed their resolve to continue strict action against those involved in illegal mining activities and urged the public to extend cooperation in safeguarding natural resources and preventing environmental degradation.
