Rashtrapati Bhavan corridors now honour India’s war heroes

RNE Network.

Rashtrapati Bhavan, once adorned with portraits of British ADCs, has undergone a remarkable transformation. The historic corridors now house the Param Vir Dirgha, a gallery dedicated to all 21 recipients of India’s highest military honour, the Param Vir Chakra.

The gallery was inaugurated by President Smt Droupadi Murmu on Vijay Diwas (16 December 2025). It honours extraordinary acts of valour and supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation.

This transformation reflects a significant shift, moving beyond colonial legacies to proudly celebrate India’s own heroes and the timeless spirit of courage that defines the nation.
