Dense fog conditions are expected to impact large parts of northern and eastern India, prompting weather alerts across key regions, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has placed much of the northern belt under an orange alert for very dense fog, including parts of the national capital region and the western plains.
Visibility in these areas is expected to drop sharply during the early morning hours.
A yellow alert has been issued for the Himalayan region, northeastern states, and parts of southern India, including Tamil Nadu.
The weather agency said foggy conditions are likely to persist in the coming days.
Authorities have warned that reduced visibility could disrupt transport services and affect daily movement, particularly during morning hours.
