Indian carriers will connect more places from Thursday, adjusting operations to maintain connectivity with the region amid ongoing disruptions in regional airspace and travel demand.
Air India and Air India Express will together operate a total of 58 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from West Asia from today. The flights will include services to destinations across the Gulf, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Oman.
Two special flights will be operated to Riyadh in Saudi Arabia — one each by Air India and Air India Express. Air India will run a non-scheduled round-trip service from Mumbai, while Air India Express will operate a similar flight from Kozhikode. Meanwhile, scheduled passenger services will continue on select routes.
IndiGo will operate flights to nine destinations across the region, along with select routes to Europe, subject to prevailing safety conditions and necessary regulatory approvals. The airline has advised customers to check the latest flight status before proceeding to the airport. IndiGo’s teams are also reaching out to impacted customers to provide assistance with alternate travel arrangements.
Besides, SpiceJet has been facilitated to obtain alternate airport approvals to ensure continued operational safety and flexibility in the region. Akasa Air has also been advised to align its planned commencement of Mumbai–Riyadh–Mumbai services with prevailing operational conditions.
