Pakistani national arrested at Jammu border; BSF foils infiltration attempt.

Border Security Force (BSF) troops apprehended a Pakistani national while he was allegedly attempting to cross the International Border (IB) into Indian territory in the Khour sector of Jammu district during the intervening night of July 20 and 21.
According to BSF sources, troops deployed at Border Outpost (BOP) Malabela of the 134 Battalion, under the jurisdiction of Police Post Pargwal, detected suspicious movement near the International Border. Despite repeated warnings and challenges by the sentry to stop, the individual continued advancing and was subsequently overpowered and taken into custody.
During preliminary questioning, the apprehended individual identified himself as Mohammad Rafiq alias Kala (53), son of Mohammad Safiq and a resident of Village Pindi in Pakistan.
The detainee reportedly told BSF officials that he had travelled from Village Looni in Pakistan and was proceeding towards Village Jung to meet his married sister.
During the search, BSF personnel recovered a Pakistani National Identity Card, spectacles, cigarette packets, a lighter, tobacco, cake, mango biscuits, chocolates, a nail cutter and a wallet from his possession.
The Pakistani national is presently in BSF custody at BOP Malabela, where further questioning and verification are underway. Officials said the circumstances surrounding the attempted border crossing are being thoroughly investigated.
