Important conversation between Christian Stocker and Narendra Modi

 Marking a key step in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker is holding talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the national capital. They are expected to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest, including cooperation in multilateral fora.

Earlier, remembering Mahatma Gandhi and his ideals, the Federal Chancellor paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat, laying a wreath and reflecting on Gandhiji’s enduring message of peace, non-violence and global harmony.

The Federal Chancellor will also call on President Droupadi Murmu later in the day.

Earlier on Wednesday, the visiting leader met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.

India and Austria share warm, friendly and multi-faceted ties, rooted in shared democratic values. The visit of Federal Chancellor Stocker also reflects the shared commitment of both countries to further deepen and expand partnership in new areas of mutual interest.
