D Gukesh beats Sindarov in Rapid Chess Clash

RNE Network.
India’s D Gukesh defeated Javokhir Sindarov in a rapid game at the Grand Chess Tour: Super Rapid & Blitz Poland 2026 in Warsaw on Wednesday.
Playing with the black pieces, reigning world champion Gukesh secured victory in 52 moves after successfully handling a tense endgame situation.
Sindarov created pressure with a dangerous passed pawn and kept the contest alive deep into the match, but Gukesh stayed in control and converted his advantage in a rook-and-minor-piece ending. The result is especially significant because the two players are set to face each other in the 2026 World Championship match later this year.
