The International Cricket Council has announced a record prize pool of 8.8 million dollars for this year’s Women’s T20 World Cup, with the winners set to receive 2.3 million dollars.

The 12-team tournament will be held in England and Wales from June 12, with New Zealand women’s cricket team set to defend the title they won in 2024.

The runners-up will receive 1.17 million dollars, while both losing semi-finalists will earn 675 thousand dollars each. Every participating team will be guaranteed a minimum prize of 248 thousand dollars.

However, the overall prize pool remains smaller than those for the men’s and women’s World Cups held in the Indian subcontinent over the past three years.
