RNE Network.
Russia claimed that its forces have taken control of Hulyaipole, the second largest city in southeast Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region.
According to a military briefing, Russian troops have also gained control of Stepnohirsk in the Zaporizhzhia region.
In the Donetsk region, they captured Dimitrov, known in Ukraine as Myrnohrad, along with Rodynske and Artyomovka.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said the capture of Hulyaipole creates better conditions for Russian forces to move further into the Zaporizhzhia region. He added that taking control of the Donetsk region is an important step towards gaining full control of the region.
President Putin also said that the Russian army is fully capable of settling the situation through military means.
